Mike Capone Player Profile

Mike Capone is another in the long line of Rhode Island golfers plays golf at the highest competitive levels in the world. Not only is Mike a former Rhode Island Amateur as well as Rhode Island Open Champion he as well as the Rhode Island Golf Association’s Player of the Year for 1997.  In addition, Mike has accomplished the following:

• 1996 Rhode Island "State Amateur Champion"
• 1995 Rhode Island State High School "Athlete of the Year"
• 1993, 1994, 1995 Rhode Island State High School Champion
  

Mike played collegiate golf for Wake Forest University.  While a Wake Forest,  He was a collegiate All-American and was awarded the coveted Arnold Palmer Scholarship. Prior to becoming a professional golfer, Mike was consistently ranked and considered to be one the world’s best amateur golfers.

• 1999 Wake Forest University "Most Valuable Player" Men's Golf
• 1997 NCAA “All American”

He competed in four United States Amateur Championships before turning pro in January of 2000. In addition to playing on the PGA Tour, Mike also has been a member of the European PGA Tour, Asian PGA Tour, Nationwide PGA Tour and Canadian Tour.
